Seizure: A Virals Novel ReviewPositive: Pirates! Is there anything more exciting than digging for buried treasure? I love how Kathy Reichs incorporates both legend and fact into her story, then twists them so her Virals have treasure to chase.
Positive: Tory. She's obviously the Alpha of her pack, bossing those boys around and getting them to do what she wants. She has good intentions -- she doesn't want the pack to break up, especially since they're only just learning about their powers and they're afraid to be apart, just in case something major happens. Plus, she's got such a sarcastic wit and an amazing brain, just like her famous aunt.
Positive: The connection to Temperance Brennan (Bones). It's a little thing, I know, but I really love when there's a crossover whether it be between series or, in this case, genres. It's like you're in on a little secret, if you've read the author's other works.
Wish: That Tory didn't seem to be talking to the reader at time. I don't know what it is about that style but it jars me and, because of that, it takes a bit longer to slide into the flow of the story.
Overall: A fast-paced thriller, SEIZURE grips readers and pulls them along for a wild ride.Seizure: A Virals Novel Overview

Kill Me If You Can ReviewKILL ME IF YOU CAN combines the usual winning formula of action, suspense and glamorous international locations predominant in Patterson's novels, but with the more off-beat influence of Karp's writing which makes for a thrilling combination. During an attack on Grand Central Station on the bread-line artist, and unlikely hero, Matt Bannon stumbles across a bag of diamonds and decides to risk taking them. A cat and mouse game ensues as Matt tries to off-load the diamonds and avoid the assassin who has been sent to track him down and retrieve them.
There is a good injection of humour as well as pace and I found myself reading this in less than a day lounging by the pool. Not a cerebral challenge, but there were enough twists and likeable characters to keep me entertained and wanting to read on to see how things turn out for Matt.
Probably more Karp than Patterson, but I enjoyed it all the same, and look forward to what is undoubtedly the start of a great new series!
