Wisdom of the Mystic Masters ReviewThis book contains the core teachings of the Rosicrucian order. This book is enlightening, just reading one paragraph causes a powerful lift in my conciousness every time I read it. They language is a bit antiquated but the meaning is very clear and concise. The ideas are complex, but they are broken down and expressed in the simplest way possible. There are no unneccessary details; it gets straight to the point.
But don't take my word for it. You can get "A Rosicrusian Speaks" for FREE on the internet. Just do a Google search for Joseph J. Weed, click on "A Rosicrucian Speaks", then copy the papers to your hard drive as a text file.
It is a collection of lectures given by Joseph J. Weed to Rosicrucian lodges in the 40's-60's. The wording is a bit unnusual but the ideas are the greatest treasures I have ever gotten for free, on the internet. The Encyclopedia of Healing Foods ReviewI liked the presentation of the book. It has a list of all different kinds of foods and then gives the benefits.
But, I am not giving this book 5 stars because there is some incorrect or misleading information. For example, the book says (page 8) that the per capita of eggs was 37 in 1909, but according to the Department of Agriculture the per capita was 292.8 (www.ers.usda.gov). That's a big difference!
He mentions phytic acid, but he doesn't say what foods have them or how to deactivate them. (Phytates pull calcium, zinc, and magnisium out of the body. They are found in grains and seeds, and they can be deactivated by sprouting or soaking in water with some yogurt.)
He writes that vitamin B6 helps detoxify estrogen out of the body, but he fails to say that only about 10% of vitamin B6 is absorbed from plant foods while about 100% of B6 is absorbed from animal foods (_AJCN_ 1988: 863-7). The ironic thing is that he says to avoid ALL animal foods (even organic) if one has an estrogen problem.
I'm glad he says usable vitamin B12 is only found in animal foods.
Overall, it's a good book.

Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East (6 Volume Set) ReviewThese books are my all-time favorites. Over the past 15 years I have purchased several sets of these books and tapes and shared these ideas with countless people. Some found them interesting, some inspiring, some didn't want to part with them, and some became obsessed with the ideas presented in these books as much as I have. What can I say, these books did change my life.
I understand that for a lot of people the ideas presented in these books seem totally outrageous and that some people try to discredit them looking for information that will prove that the adventures presented in these books are all fabricated. To a lot of people it is very disconcerting when their ideas become challenged and they'll fight to prove that their limiting beliefs are the sound ones even if those beliefs are actually crippling their lives and taking the joy out of it. Whatever we choose to believe, we'll always look for ways to validate our beliefs and we'll always find what we are looking for (proof).
Even though we may or may not be able to prove whether the stories in these books are factual, we call all apply the principles presented. The main idea of these books is that man is limited or unlimited according to the thoughts and beliefs he chooses. And even if your main goal in life is not to master the ability to walk on water, walk through fire, teleport, or spiritualize your body, you can still use the principles in this book to get as far as your imagination and faith will allow you. Then, if you ever get bored with the mundane life, if you ever begin to wonder if there's anything more to life, you can get ideas here that will keep you busy on developing yourself, growing, expanding and actualizing your potential as long as you so desire. And then, if you are really interested, you can find many other books that explore the same principles presented here to feed your mind, your imagination, and your passion for life.
If you choose to apply the principles presented in this book, instead of just reading the books once for entertainment, you will soon begin to experience events in your life that will serve as a proof that these principles are valid and applicable in your life wherever you are right now and your belief will grow stronger and who knows, maybe one day you decide to imagine for yourself what was previously unthinkable. Maybe one day you give yourself a chance to surprise yourself allowing the power that is locked within you to come out and express itself in all its glory. The material is presented in a concise, readable manner, and the HeartMath exercises are simple and easily learned, especially Freeze Frame.
I am personally utilizing the Freeze Frame and Cut-Through exercises and am amazed at how quickly one gets to the"heart" of feelings, problems, etc. Although I have been a meditator for 17 years, the methods described in this book have opened up new and creative aspects of myself.

The Reconnection ReviewI just finished reading The Reconnection. I debated whether to write a review and, finally, decided that I would go ahead and share my thoughts.
I am an osteopath who has been in practice for 17 years. Each of our paths is different and I would never presume to question anyone else's work. What the author describes is, I assume, his experience.
My own journey has brought me to a place where much of what is described in this book is quite familiar. I experience it daily.
I found the first half of the book ( up to page 83 in the 2001 version that I have) unhelpful. This is the autobiographical aspect in which the author describes his own development. He tells us repeatedly that he has a special gift, that he was sought out [given this gift] because he is "a master," " we [entities who speak to him] have come because of your reputation." (p.70)
The author is very, very special. He spends almost one-third of the book reminding us of this. He is not just special; he is very special.
So much for the first part of the book, the personality.
However, the second half of the book is entirely different.
It contains many nuggets which, based on my own limited but practical experience I can say ring true.
He provides many guidelines and pearls ( please forgive the unintended pun) which will prove invaluable for anyone seriously interested in entering this path regardless of whatever level that may be.
His advice on dealing with clients, length of time, follow-up visits, mind states of the practitioner, and beliefs associated with such work are spot on.
It took me many years to learn much of this on my own.
A few other personal comments:
You need not attend any class, seminar or read any book to do this work. It is yours whether you consciously know this or not. Silently ask to be taught when you interact with anyone and, I promise, you will.
Your hands are already activated. You need not seek out anyone to activate them.
There is no right or wrong way. There is just what presents.
Don't try to accomplish anything. Let It do the work.
Your trying only gets in the way.
There is no need for any entities or spirits but, if you wish to cultivate such things, you will experience that, too. However, my own experience is that this is totally unnecessary.
The author expresses his own beliefs. You need not adopt them in order to successfully experience what is described in this volume.
Trust yourself, trust the moment.
Know that All is well.The Reconnection Overview

This book packs in an amazing amount of information in under 300 pages (some of these are lists of feelings and physical symptoms.) It is written very simply - no rocket science here. It addresses the origin of emotions and approaches emotions on the scientific, medical, and spiritual levels. This book appealed to both my wanting to know how my feelings came about and how to properly label them and my need for a simple tool or meditation to release the negative unresolved feelings which have keep me in my destructive patterns.
I wish I had read this book when I was a teenager after an abusive upbringing, or while I was in college unmotivated to reach my full potential, or before I made the decision to marry the wrong person. I am glad that I found it in time to work through some of the issues of my divorce and to continue on my quest for personal growth.
As the book explains the root to finding all of those answers is here - and shows you how to look inside yourself in a loving and compassionate way. It reiterates something we all know and easily forget - you are the truth you seek!Feelings Buried Alive Never Die Overview

The Devil in Pew Number Seven ReviewWhen my husband told me we would be receiving this book to review I was very excited and this book did not let me down. It had me from the very first page. In fact, I started it in the evening, read until 1:30 in the morning, got up at 6:30am to read some more and finished it by about 10am. It was that good.
Let me give you a little bit of info about the book and then I will tell you why you should definitely read it, too. This is the true story of Rebecca Nichols Alonzo and her family. She was born into a little community called Sellerstown. The book shares about about her parents' love story and travels as traveling preachers before she was born, but the main story mostly takes place at the Free Welcome Holiness Church in Sellerstown, North Carolina where her father took over as the pastor in 1969. A man that attended the church decided to make it his mission to terrorize the family until they left the church, as he had lost a lot of control over the congregation when Rebecca's dad came to town. He tried to accomplish this through numerous bombings of their house and church, threatening phone calls and mail, sniper fire and even trying to pay someone off to run the pastor down with a car. Throughout the entire story Rebecca's parents stand steadfast and instead of teaching their children to be fearful and hateful, they repeatedly encourage them to trust in the Lord and forgive their enemies.
I knew that I would like this book from the very beginning, but this book turned out to be so much more than I had even hoped it would be. This book truly addresses the issues that hold us back from forgiving, and the true toll that anger, bitterness, and lack of forgiveness can have on our own lives and walk with the Lord. This book made me step back and take a look at the condition of my relationships present and past. I realized that I am not as good at speaking "the language of heaven" as I thought I was. That is something that God is now working on in my heart because of Rebecca's courage to tell her story and share the wonderful lessons of forgiveness that her parents taught her and her brother. I am so thankful for this book. I plan on reading it again and again so that these lessons are never far from my mind. I am grateful that Rebecca had the courage to share her story and I hope that you will pick this book up and be blessed by it as well.The Devil in Pew Number Seven Overview
